Vets in Mind

The Vets in Mind Alliance is a totally separate not for profit organisation which aims to be a source of quality information about mental health and wellness for the veterinary market, providing information from credible sources, case studies from our profession and  to signpost people to programmes run by various associations, organizations, charities and support groups around the world for all members of the veterinary market whether they are in practice, academia or companies and charities in the veterinary market.

Vets in Mind aims to help by:


Giving veterinarians the tools to become cognisant of mental health issues by providing short, general information on a number of mental health topics.

Providing 24/7 information regarding veterinarians looking after themselves and others in the first instance as prevention, as well as how to seek further assistance for themselves or others

Providing contacts for mental health support for team members of veterinary practices etc.

It is provided by an App available via the Apple and Google app stores.

The project has been supported by the Pet Plan Charitable Trust, Circa Healthcare and NAVC. Without their support this project would not have reached fruition.

We are also working with many other organisations (American Association of Equine Practitioners, British Equine Veterinary Association, VetTechlife, NAVTA, Not One More Vet, The Riptide Project, Crampton Consulting, 1Life Connected, Northern Ireland and Scotland Veterinary Support Groups, and The Riptide Project) who are contributing to the project and partnering with us to widen the awareness and use of the app to their members and other constituents.


Video with My Vet

Video with My Vet enables you to see your clients and their animals via a mobile phone, wherever they may be: home, farm or on holiday – mobile phones are practical for any size animal.

  • It is focused on the whole need of the practice not just the video consultation
  • Such as the making of appointments, consultation notes etc
  • The efficiency of the process (using the reception team to book appointments, rather than vets)
  • Being able to charge up front for the consultation via in-app purchase or the in-practice card terminal. Practices can set their own appointment types, durations and consultation costs
  • 100% of the consultation costs paid via the app (less the actual 1.4% costs of Stripe) are paid to the practice
  • No fees based on the number of active clients.
  • Post consultation feedback facility from clients to enable practices to measure client satisfaction
  • In-app notifications of up and coming appointments to remind clients of appointments
  • Transparency of the pricing for practices.
      • 100% of the consultation costs paid via the app (less the actual 1.4%  costs of Stripe) are paid to the practice
      • No fees based on the number of active clients.
  • Full technical support for the system is provided
  • Close matching of video consultations to work as similarly as “in-practice” consultations

Video With My Vet 

  • provides veterinary practices with their very own tele-medicine and video consultation experience for clients and patients under their care.
  • makes follow up consultations, repeat prescriptions and emergency conversations easier for clients, especially those who may have difficulties getting to the practice or who live further away.
